Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre was constructed in 1976 and was the first multi-storey enclosed shopping centre in Ireland, causing excitement
on a similar scale to the country's newest centre in Dundrum.
It is no mere coincidence that the Borough of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown should be home to Ireland's largest shopping centre in 1976 and again in 2005; it is affirmation
of the high spending power of those people who have chosen to make the borough their home.
Extended in 1990 the centre now comprises 132,000 sq. ft. of retail space on three levels over a basement goods delivery facility with multi-storey parking for 360 cars.

Dun Laoghaire, both a Victorian and modern town, is the capital of the county and seat of local government. It gets its name from a High King of Ireland

"Dún" was located here some 1,500 years ago.

Dun Laoghaire harbour was built between 1817 and 1842 with granite quarried the nearby village of Dalkey, now Irelands answer to Hollywood as it is home to many international stars.
The harbour remains one of the finest and largest artificial harbours in the world and has linked Ireland and Britian for almost two hundred years.
